Nuoc Mam

  • 5 to 8 chunks of garlic
  • 3-5 pieces of whole red chili peper
  • 3 Tbsp of white sugar
  • half a whole lime
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp of water
  • 3 Tbsp of Fish sauce
  1. Remove the shells off of the garlic and the stems off of the chili peppers then add them to the mortar. add the sugar as well.
  2. grind the garlic and peppers with the sugar until the garlic and pepper are grind to very small pieces.
  3. add the fish sauce and water into the mortar then stir it with a spoon
  4. add the half lime and then stir it again.
  5. serve and enjoy.
